Welcome Kit is a set of fictitious government-issued items for Japanese Americans entering incarceration camps in 1942. Each of the individual items would have been incredibly practical and useful for those about to spend years living in military style barracks with no insulation and little privacy. The items are held in a metal bucket, which would have served the dual purposes of seat and chamber pot.
