Thirty-Six Views of Mt. Rainier #1, 2018
Vintage postcards, linen tape
189x3.25”
When my father and his family were sent to the Tule Lake incarceration center in 1942, they left behind a hillside home in Tacoma, WA, with a clear view of Mt. Rainier. Thirty-six Views of Mr. Rainier #1 is the first of a series of works reflecting on place and visual memory while referencing Hokusai’s series, Thirty-six Views of Mt. Fuji.
